Kids Book Winners Announced
The Center for Epilepsy and Seizure Education has announced the winners of its Children's Book Writing Contest.
Alexandra Potter was awarded $1000 for the artwork she created in her submission, A Special Girl: A Story of Epilepsy. Amy Guenther received $1000 for her story Violet's Special Day. Both awards were recently presented at a ceremony at The Reach Gallery Museum.
The contests invited students in the community to create a book - aimed at kids from kindergarten to Grade 2 - about a child with epilepsy who has a seizure and requires first aid.
The winning submissions will now be published and used as a resource in schools to help educate kids about epilepsy.

Mr. Parker was very proud to
attend this year's charity telethon and present a check for $2,504.11 on behalf of a
dedicated group of students who worked over the entire year to fund raise for the hospital.
Not all members were able to attend, but those who did appeared live on television
represented themselves, their families and their school in sterling fashion. Please join me in
celebrating the self less work of Arjun Gill, Dilpreet Gill, Arjun Brar, Harkirat Athwal, Heena
Khaira, Lovepreet Chahal, Amanpreet Dhaliwal and Divya Sethi.
KTES Top Ranked Public School in Province
Congratulations to our students, teachers and parents! King Traditional
ranked first place (again) in the province, and in our school district, as top
performing public school! We received a score of 9.8 out of 10 for
academics. Hats off to our sister school - Auguston, which scored 9.2 out
of 10!
A huge thank you to all our teachers and especially to Mrs. Rasti and
Mr.Price for preparing our students for these Provincial exams.
KTES Featured In "Education Today" Magazine and Wins Awards
King Traditional was featured in the August 2010 issue of "Education Today" magazine, highlighting the successes of our school. Our own Mrs.
Kasapi was even mentioned in the article! On top of this already exciting news, we also
won an award for being the '1st Place - Top Fundraising School' in all of B.C. for Children's
Hospital. Then, on Saturday, A.P.D. Casey Vinet and Chief of Police, Bob Rich, presented
King Traditional with a trophy and school pizza party for top participating/fundraising school
for the Police Challenge Run. About 10% of the runners that came out for the Police
Challenge were from King Traditional.
Way to go King Traditional! Thank you parents for being so supportive of your child's school
and community. You are what makes us so strong.
